Resolution of Support(Sample)

WHEREAS, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Pacific Islanders serve at the highest per capita in the Armed Forces compared to any group of Americans, and have served with valor in all the Nation’s wars from the Revolutionary War through the present; and

WHEREAS, American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Pacific Islanders served in the Vietnam War at the highest per capita of any other minority group; and

WHEREAS, American Indian Veterans Memorial, Inc. shall be charged with the responsibility to go into Indian Country to communicate with local, regional, and national Indian and non-Indian groups necessary to gather financial support to establish an American Indian Veterans Memorial Exhibit in the “Education Center at the Wall” to be built near the Vietnam Wall on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

WHEREAS, the addition of the American Indian Veterans Memorial Exhibit at the “Education Center at the Wall” will recognize the bravery, contributions and sacrifices of the American Indian, Alaska Native, and Pacific Islander veterans military service.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the [name of Tribal Governing Body/Organization/Corporation] on behalf of its membership, hereby recognizes and approves the American Indian Veterans Memorial Exhibit to be established in the “Education Center at the Wall” to be built near the Vietnam Wall on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
